FAQs

What are Your Home Care Rates?

Our rates are based upon the length of visit and the specific needs of each client. To get a specific quote or to schedule a free no obligation assessment, please contact us.

How Does 24-Hour Care Work?

Tender Hearts at Home Senior Care will provide a team of caregivers to cover all 7 days. These caregivers usually will do 8 to 12 Hour per day shift. 24-Hour Care can be a wonderful alternative to a facility with an alert and attentive Caregiver around the clock.

Do you require a service contract or charge more for an increase in services?

There’s no contract for Tender Hearts at Home. That means you can use our caregivers only as long as you’re 100% satisfied. There is a simple 2 page service agreement spelling out our rates and services.

How do I know my caregiver will be trustworthy?

You can enjoy peace of mind knowing that all of our caregivers are rigorously screened for honesty and integrity.  We only hire the most responsible and qualified caregivers. Furthermore, we conduct thorough background checks-including local, state and federal criminal records, DMV checks and drug screens. Tender Hearts at Home and our caregivers are also fully bonded, insured and covered by workers compensation insurance.

Will the same caregiver come each day/shift?

Our goal is to establish a long-term match between client and caregiver, and to keep the same caregiver with a client as long as the client is satisfied. We call this “Continuity of Care”. This is based upon our experience that developing a strong rapport and trust with your caregiver is a vital component to a successful home care experience. In short, we want to avoid the “revolving door” of caregivers.

How do you assess the quality of care and caregivers in the home environment?

We have a trained field care supervisor who makes periodic visits to our client’s home and assesses the caregivers professional appearance, the home environment and the required documentation. In addition, the field care supervisor has an in depth one-on- one conversation with the senior to gauge their level of satisfaction with our company, services and caregivers. This ongoing relationship provides invaluable information as we continue to always strive to be  the best home care company in the area.

Can your caregivers provide transportation?

Yes. Our caregivers can drive to doctor’s appointments, senior centers or any place. If driving your vehicle, there’s no extra charge to your hourly or daily rate. If you require the caregiver to drive his or her own vehicle, you’re simply billed a standard per—mileage rate to cover fuel and wear and tear.

Do you accept long term care insurance?

Yes. Long term care insurance covers most home care expenses, up to your policy’s daily limits. However, Medicare, Medicaid or other health insurance plans do not cover home care, since our duties are non-medical. For former US servicemen/servicewomen, the Veterans Administration Pension Plan offers a home care benefit called the “Aid & Attendance” pension. Ask us for more information.

What kind of Services do you provide?

2 types: Companion Care and Personal Care services are designed to take over or assist in the activities that elders need to be able to stay at home safely and with dignity. These may include fall prevention, medication and fluids reminders, light housekeeping, grooming or bathing assistance, bathroom assistance, personal hygiene help, meal preparation and clean up, laundry help, and running errands.

Do you provide services in assisted and independent living facilities?

People sometimes discover that the assistance provided in an assisted living facility is not enough to enable them to remain independent. In these cases, Tender Hearts at Home provides a Caregiver to make this possible.

How quickly can services be provided?

Generally services can be provided within a 24-hour period following our Free Assessment.  We are very responsive to your needs!

Can I change the schedule if I have appointments or days off?

Changes are easily accomplished with as little as 48 Hours notice. Our philosophy is to make the schedule work for the family.  You come first: your needs, your requests, your schedule. We will do everything possible to make sure the schedule you want is the schedule you get.
